Le Centre de bénévolat du sud-est du Nouveau-Brunswick Inc. est un organisme de bienfaisance enregistré. Par le biais de la promotion du bénévolat, le Centre aide plus de 150 organismes sans but lucratif des régions de Dieppe, Moncton et Riverview en recrutant des bénévoles. Il a été actif depuis plus de 40 ans.

Seeking New Board Member:

The Volunteer Centre of Southeastern N.B. Inc. is presently accepting new applications for an opening on our Board of Directors. (volunteer position) We are seeking an individual with a strong interest in the wellbeing of their community to become part of a dynamic Board of Directors.

Incorporated in 1976, the ‘Volunteer Centre’ is a large multi-service, community-based organization employing over 65 people; located in the Community Peace Centre, downtown Moncton.

The Board of Directors meets monthly for a lunch hour meeting 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. (lunch and parking vouchers provided) We invite anyone interested in becoming a board member to visit our website to learn of all of the services and supports we provide throughout southeastern N.B. and to complete a volunteer application form on-line.

Vous cherchez des bénévoles?

Nous avons un grand groupe de citoyens locaux que nous aidons à l'appariement avec les possibilités de bénévolat à tout moment entre les dates du dimanche, 22 avril et dimanche, le 06 mai, 2018. On nous a demandé d'identifier 10 à 15 organismes locaux à but non lucratif qui ont des possibilités de bénévolat. Pour enregistrer votre Agence, voici ce que vous devez faire:

Première étape

  • Enregistrez le nom, l'adresse et la personne de contact de votre Agence
Deuxième étape
  • Fournir une brève description de l'expérience (s) de bénévolat que vous offrez
  • Énumérez toutes les conditions préalables que vos bénévoles doivent remplir, telles que: dépistage (vérification des dossiers de police, etc.) toute assurance automobile spéciale, niveau spécial de permis de conduire, doit être capable de soulever, doit être capable de peindre, etc.
Étape trois
  • Lister le nombre de bénévoles dont vous avez besoin
Quatrième étape
  • Liste s'il y a des jours spécifiques de la semaine ou des heures de la journée où les bénévoles sont nécessaires

URGENTLY NEEDED

We are in desparete need for more volunteers for Big Hearts Small City

We are still in need of more volunteers to help at our new office space and our Bed Donation Program. See more information below on what we are looking for.

Big Hearts Small City Inc are looking for new volunteers that can work in our new office during the day etc. No volunteers to date have stepped forward. Office can not open until we have volunteers there. We need more volunteers for our Bed Donation warehouse as well.

We need people with some office experience with data entry, meeting clients, completing paperwork. Work on a computer with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Some other office programs as well.

For our warehouse, we need strong able people to do bed pick ups, drop offs, etc this is more physical in nature. Also need to have a clean driving record for last 6yrs for insurance purposes.

Any volunteer will need to fill out our volunteer application form and get a criminal record check done ( you will be helping our vulnerable people and need a clear criminal record for their safety) We can provide a way for you to get the check done for free.

We need your help

volunteer intake greeter

To greet the clients as they enter the center or call, and ensure they have an appointment and direct them to waiting are to go into intake. Key responsibilities would be: to provide an environment that is safe and non-judgmental, make appointments over phone or walk-ins, ensure that coffee/tea/snacks are available for clients, keeping the area of that station tidy and clean. If the clients list of the day have any reviews scheduled, collecting files from cabinet to ensure that the intake worker receives when the client is called in then return those files at the end of day. Other duties if required, subject to changes.
Qualifications: Excellent customer service skills, Strong communication skills, maintain a positive non-judgmental attitude, Computer skills an asset.

Intake worker/reviewer

This volunteer will meet one on one with the client, which will take place in a private office space allocated for that purpose for confidentiality. Key responsibilities; reviewer may be required to do a financial assessment to reveal the need for the visits to the center for service and offer information and resources. Verifies client is registered in the computer system using their current up to date NB Medicare card for the individual and the others in household if any, verifies the current address. Input info for communicating the notes pertinent to the client and appointment for following visit, food count is recorded
Subject to change, other duties as required
Qualifications: Excellent customer service skills, strong communication skills, positive attitude and non-judgmental, computer skills an asset

Front center distributor/worker

These volunteers will be able to work well with others, maintain a positive non-judgmental attitude, good communication skills adaptable to change, follow direction from team leaders that we have designated to provide the day to day requirements of product distribution etc. May have duties change on day to day and then helping others if you see the need once you are through for cleaning, defrosting freezers, cleaning lunch area
Qualifications: Ability to follow direction and work as team player, Have a positive attitude, energetic, some mobility, reaching, bending, lifting

Back center distributor/ warehouse worker

The receiving of shipments working with the volunteer from warehouse deliveries, and other sources of deliveries there will be a need to wear proper outerwear, footwear weather pending. Needs to have the ability to have a good communication with all other workers to inform the product information, quantity and other. There is a day to day change and adaptability to the changes and other working volunteers. Team player is a must. Ability to move, bend, lift, fast paced at times environment
Other Key responsibilities: Clean work space, safety and respect for others working, creating crates and following food guides for expiry or other conditions to be safe. Work flow for everyone sharing that work space. Replenishing out front stock as needed, product code marking, sorting, packing, repacking, portioning.
And any other duties as required and subject to change
Qualifications: Ability to follow direction well and adapt to change, work as a team player and liaison between center and depot at times , physically challenging at times, lifting, bending, reaching, keeping area clean and tidy maintain always fire exit clearings. Maintain a positive attitude.

Garden caretakers

Volunteers can be responsible for overall maintenance of the front garden beds, property landscape, and the Community Garden in the back. Duties include pulling weeds, prepping soil, adding soil, planting, watering and tending to the plants, cleaning the parking lot and grass area, picking up garbage around the property, other general cleaning and care taking.

Volunteers can develop and facilitate mini workshops on subjects related to food security, finances, mental health, and basic life skills.

Kitchen Catalyst

A volunteer that would like to lead a group of community members in an activity that utilizes the Medavie Community Kitchen and aligns with its mandate. Have an idea for an activity or group? Have kitchen expertise? The Medavie Community Kitchen is looking for facilitators and program leaders to fill out its activity calendar. Any one who wants to participate in the Medavie Community Kitchen. No expertise or cooking skill needed. Just a positive attitude and a will to help. From food preservation, community meals, fundraising and more; the Medavie Community Kitchen will need an amazing crew to work! Several volunteer opportunities offered

Food DEPOT Alimentaire (FDA) is a registered non-profit charity that services more than 30 agencies including food banks, community soup kitchens, supportive organizations and school lunch/after-school programs in southeastern New Brunswick. We need your help

Driver Requirements

FDA operates three delivery trucks from our warehouse. Driver’s license certification for 5 Ton (Class 5 *air brakes), Class 5 for Cube Vans, driving abstracts and a demonstration of ability will be required prior to drivers being allowed to operate the delivery trucks.
FDA certified personnel will assist potential drivers/operators to become qualified by providing equipment orientation sessions. FDA equipment and vehicles shall be operated by authorized personnel only who are expected to accept responsibility for the safe operation of the equipment or vehicle at all times.

Fork Lift and Power Jacks

Valid certificate of training and a demonstration of ability will be required prior to operation of warehouse forklift. We use Power Jacks in our warehouse as well as hand jacks, training is provided and steel toe foot ware is a requirement.

Sorting of food products

Volunteers in our Warehouse sort and mark off bar codes of the food we collect from food drives, as well as food collected on a daily basis from our local stores and businesses, cans and dry goods are checked for expiry dates and damages. Volunteers help in the preparation of food orders that we send to 33 Agencies in South East New Brunswick.

Food Drives and special events

Several times per year Food Depot Alimentaire has on site events where we collect food and donations, Volunteers greet people and accept the food with the assistance of FDA staff, it is then brought back to our warehouse on 330 MacNaughton Ave for processing.

Volunteers would assist our Administrative Manager with Filing of receipts, answering phones, and light office duties as well as recording and tracking of volunteer hours

Application to receive volunteers April 22 to May 6, 2018

We are looking for volunteers to help us clean back area of Hospice Shoppe and pack donations to place in a storage area as we will begin some construction the week of May 7, 2018. The volunteers would need to be able to lift 30 lbs. It would be better for them to get a police record cheque especially if they would do more than one shift. Or a copy of one done in the last year. A confidentiality form will need to be signed. They will need to fill out a Volunteer application form and fill out what will be applicable to their situation.
We are requesting 5 volunteer shifts per week.
Volunteers can come in between 9 am and 5 pm for a maximum of a 6 hour shift Monday to Friday.

Soutien à l'enrôlement des familles

Le Centre de ressources pour les familles des militaires est à la recherche de bénévoles pour assister aux cérémonies d'enrôlement militaire dans la province du Nouveau-Brunswick, particulièrement à Moncton et à Saint John. Les responsabilités de ce rôle bénévole incluraient l'accueil des familles du nouveau militaire et leur offriraient de l'information sur les services offerts par le CRFM et notre rôle dans le soutien de la famille. Nous demandons également que la famille reçoive les insignes de la famille militaire et qu'on leur dise l'importance de faire partie de la communauté militaire. Une formation pour cette opportunité sera fournie.

Session d’information jeudi le 17 mai à 18h30-20h30 (125 ave Murphy, Moncton)

La Villa du Repos est a la recherche de bénévoles pour le nouveau program des Repas Roulants (Meals on Wheels) pour les livraisons. On recherche aussi des bénévoles pour aider avec les activités pour les résidents.  Une session d’information sera offert dans la salle d’activité avec un petit gouté, café et thé.

Ce matin, premier ministre Justin Trudeau a annoncé une nouvelle initiative nationale pour les jeunes Canadien(ne)s. Cette initiative fournira aux jeunes des différentes options et opportunités pour qu’ils/elles s’engagent et servent leurs communautés, incluant une plate-forme d'occasions de bénévolat pour jeunes créée en collaboration avec Bénévoles Canada. Cette plate-forme permettra aux jeunes Canadien(ne)s de chercher et d’être jumelé avec des occasions de bénévolat près de chez eux et partout au pays!
