Volunteer reading mentors
Elementary Literacy Inc. is addressing New Brunswicks persistently low adult literacy rates by intervening early, before childrens reading problems become entrenched and costly to remediate. Volunteer reading mentors are recruited, trained and supported for working one-on-one with struggling grade two readers in schools across the province twice a week, for ten weeks, after school.
