Canadian Wildlife Federation youth leadership program – WILD Outside | Fédération canadienne de la faune
DESCRIPTION
We are currently recruiting youth participants ages 15-18; as well as adult volunteers to assist at our events. Though our in-person events are on hold due to COVID19, we are continuing to recruit young people to join our online conservation lectures and at-home independent activities.
WILD Outside is a national conservation-based youth leadership program designed for youth ages 15 to 18. By participating in this immersive program, young Canadians will experience opportunities for personal growth while developing and encouraging their own “conservation ethic.” Learning from CWF facilitators alongside their peers, youth who join the WILD Outside program will connect with other participants in their area by exploring the outdoors and planning and carrying out community-based conservation action projects in their own community. Participants in the program are encouraged to commit to 120 hours of service activity and engagement over a calendar year and will be recognized for their dedication.
We look forward to welcoming young people to this exciting program and hope to have many different youth from all communities and from many different walks of life and varying experiences.
If you have questions or if you or someone you know is interested please go to http://wildoutside.ca/ for more information and to fill out the online inquiry form.
COVID 19 and the WILD Outside program
While COVID 19 currently prevents participants from gathering together in person, that hasn’t stopped our WILD Outside facilitators from adapting our programming to bring people together virtually across the country. We encourage interested youth age 15 to 18 to continue to register for our WILD Outside program; then join us as we connect online to learn about and plan conservation projects we can deliver once we get the green light to gather our WILD Outside participants together again.
Nature has never needed young, idealistic allies more than it does right now, so be sure to register for a WILD Outside program near you!
Let’s start planning for a brighter future for wildlife together.
