DESCRIPTION<\/strong>
\nAs the Volunteer Run Director, Logistics your time will be spent managing and empowering the committee members tasked with driving all logistical elements of the CIBC Run for the Cure.
\nWhile collaborating with your Co-Volunteer Run Director and staff, you will lead a team of volunteers who will develop and execute a site plan, organize a 1km and 5km route, and recruit a team of volunteers to support all local Run activities.
\nThrough collaboration with your Co-Volunteer Run Director you will lead meetings, motivate your committee, and act as a local ambassador for the Society. You will assist in identifying vacant committee positions, and work with your fellow committee members to fill any voids, in collaboration with the Society.
\nThroughout your volunteer experience you will receive the constant support of the staff at the Society who will answer your questions, provide guidance, and connect you with other Run volunteer leaders.
\nTime Commitment:
\n– Attendance at the annual Run Director Training Conference in Toronto May 4-6th, 2018 (costs covered)
\n– Monthly committee meetings from May to July and biweekly in August and September
\n– Weekly tasks averaging 6-8 hours per week depending on the scope of tasks and time of year
\n– Attendance and leadership role at pre-Run events\/opportunities,
\n– In person availability from September 28th to September 30th
\n– Training will be provided throughout the Run season in the form of webinars and conference calls
\ndevelop appropriate solutions
\n– Looking for a rewarding volunteer experience
\n– Excellent computer skills
\n– Flexibility during business hours to respond to emails and phone calls as needed
\n– Agrees to the organization\u2019s Waiver and Code of Conduct for Employees, Volunteers and Directors
\n– Has valid drivers\u2019 license and access to a vehicle
\nSkills and requirements<\/strong>
\nThe ideal Volunteer Run Director, Logistics has\/is:
\n– Demonstrated success in a leadership role with team building experience
\n– A master planner, delegator and provides clear direction and support
\n– A passion for the breast cancer cause and event planning
\n– Experience in volunteerism, specifically in logistics and event execution
\n– Strong project management skills with ability to anticipate problems and develop appropriate solutions
\n– Looking for a rewarding volunteer experience
