In the community of Moncton, ENSEMBLE has led the way in preventing chronic disease by engaging hard-to-reach populations and promoting safer drug consumption options. For many years ENSEMBLE has organized the distribution of harm reduction supplies for Moncton and the rest of the province. With the support of the community, and exemption status from Health Canada, ENSEMBLE established the first Safe Consumption (Overdose Prevention) Site in New Brunswick. With recent changes in leadership roles, ENSEMBLE has the opportunity to forge new partnerships and transform itself to meet clients ever evolving needs. The Board remains accountable to the community and is committed to: • Promoting harm reduction and reducing stigma • Building partnerships • Securing financial support in extending ENSEMBLE’S services The Board of Directors is comprised of up to nine members, with officers including President, Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and members-at-large. ENSEMBLE’s Board of Directors is currently seeking to fill four (4) member positions. Responsibilities • Board members should expect to attend and participate in Board meetings and other meetings, as needed, in order to set direction and accomplish the mission; • may be invited to participate in communications, media and public relations functions, as needed; • may network with staff and community partners, as needed; • may be invited to act as representatives of the Board to external organizations, as needed.Skills• experience in financial matters such as business, risk management, or accounting would be an asset, as would an ability to network in the business community; • experience and facility with Governance, policy, or legal/regulatory matters would be an asset, • having lived/firsthand experience would be an asset • an ability to work collaboratively with fellow Board members to accomplish the Board’s goals and objectives; • an understanding of funding partnerships would be an asset; • a history of being actively involved in your community; Requirements • resident (past or present) of New Brunswick • an interest in harm reduction initiatives and familiarity with the work of ENSEMBLE; • a commitment to attend one ENSEMBLE social event, annually Is this position adequate for youth (13‐17)?: No Ideal for: Adults Language: Both are an asset Location: Greater Moncton Leader (person in charge): Scott Phipps, Executive Director Accessibility: Not accessible by wheelchair Start date: September 25, 2025 End date: October 22, 2025 Commitment (Determines when a volunteer needs to be available for this opportunity): Appointees must agree to attend and participate in Board meetings and to be actively involved in the work of the Board.
