La Journée du chandail orange est une journée de commémoration organisée par les communautés autochtones visant à sensibiliser aux conséquences intergénérationnelles des pensionnats sur les individus, les familles et les communautés, et à promouvoir le concept « Chaque enfant compte ». Le chandail orange est un symbole de la dépossession de la culture, de la liberté et de l’estime de soi dont ont été victimes les enfants autochtones pendant plusieurs générations.
