Y Mind – a free anxiety support program for people between the ages of 13-30

The YMCA of Greater Moncton is thrilled to announce the launch of Y Mind – a free anxiety support program for people between the ages of 13-30. Y Mind is an early intervention and prevention mental wellness program for teens and youth who are experiencing mild to moderate anxiety.

Through Y Mind, participants will learn skills to improve their mental health. Program sessions will take place over seven weeks and will be co-facilitated by two mental health practitioners. Through Y Mind, co-facilitators Vanessa and Pablo will offer groups for both teens age 13-18 and youth age 18-30. The group sessions use acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and mindfulness strategies to aid youth in their experiences with anxiety.

Groups for teens and youth will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning February 2023.

The team will be hosting in person information sessions for folks interested in Y Mind on January 24th at 6:30 pm at our North End location and January 26th at 6:30pm at our Vaughan Harvey location. Anyone interested in additional information about the program is invited to attend.

If this would appeal to any of the youth you work with encourage them to attend the information sessions or contact us directly at ymind@ymcamoncton.ca to set up an intake
