The sun is out and the UV index is shinning down on us. Although its nice to spend an afternoon lying in the sun, lets not forget that some people find it impossible to escape the heat and the suns rays.
Winter is rough but summer brings on a whole new batch of problems for the homeless. They suffer daily from heat stroke, dehydration, heat exhaustion, sunburns and much more. These individuals don’t have access to AC units. They aren’t granted to privilege of spending an overly hot day inside in order to stay cool.
This is why we are asking for your kindness and generosity; ENSEMBLE is looking for donations on sunscreen.
Our onsite Nurse Practitioner sees many folks for sunburns during the summer months. Prevention and harm reduction is key! With your help, we will be able to provide the homeless population with sunscreen and therefore, reduce the risks that come with sunburns.
All donations can be dropped off at 80 Weldon Street, Moncton from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm.
Thank you in advance
