Description of volunteer work
This volunteer position will manage activities to ensure volunteers at the Albert County Museum have an enjoyable and productive experience. The Volunteer Coordinator will manage a Volunteer Engagement Program including recruitment, orientation, work assignment, and volunteer recognition. The Coordinator will help to develop the resources and processes to ensure the program runs smoothly. The Coordinator will be the point of contact for volunteers and for staff and committee looking for volunteer support.
Skills
An enthusiastic people person, who enjoys meeting and motivating volunteers, who can make the volunteer experience fun and rewarding.
Organizational skills – able to follow procedures, keep documents and lists organized, manage work schedules
Basic computer skills – email, spreadsheets, documentation
Creative – able to make suggestions and find creative ways to improve processes and the volunteer experience
Requirements
Maintain a list of volunteers and their interests and availability
Recruit new volunteers for on-going and one-time activities
Provide volunteer orientation and training, along with the Managing Director
Assign volunteer tasks and manage work schedules
Ensure volunteers have the information and resources needed to be successful at their task
Help to plan and deliver volunteer recognition
