RED Means STOP

When a school bus has its red lights flashing, all drivers in both directions must come to a complete stop. Every single time.

Our Anglophone East School District bus drivers report 10 to 12 red light violations every day.

In New Brunswick, failing to stop for a school bus with red lights flashing carries a minimum fine of $480 up to over $2000 and the loss of six demerit points. Several of our buses are now equipped with cameras that can collect information to ensure violators are found.

More serious than a hefty fine is the potential tragedy that can result from not stopping. Let’s all do our part to keep students safe. When the lights are red, stop and stay stopped.
