VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position title : Community Connector Volunteer
Number of volunteer required : 10+
Type of work: Other jobs
Description : Connection NB aims to connect community-dwelling older adults in need of support with local services, groups and communities based on identified needs and personal goals. The Community Connector Volunteer is a passionate and enthusiastic individual with a desire to support older adults in the community. The Community Connector Volunteer will work to identify the unique needs of their paired participant, and work with them to connect with assets in the community.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS :
Skills: Understanding and adherence to the CRC fundamental principles and values
An interest in building partnerships based on community identified needs
Knowledge about and involved in their community or a desire to become involved or learn more
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Fluent in English, French is an asset.
Active listening skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work within a team
Ability to set clear boundaries
Friendly interpersonal skills
Respect/adhere to privacy and confidentiality guidelines
Good organizational skills
Empathy and compassion with the capacity to remain calm in unexpected situations
Enjoyment in socializing with older adults
Experience working with a diverse population an asset

 

 

Requirements: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
This position requires a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
Must be at least 18 years of age
Experience working with older adults is an asset
A good understanding of services in the community is considered an asset
Adequate for youth (13-17) | Convient-il aux jeunes (13-17) : no
