Hello Everybody!
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Ana and I am the new Volunteer Services Manager for Shelter Movers New Brunswick. We may have already been e-introduced through the Zoom channels. I am here to support our wonderful volunteers! My role includes helping with recruitment and taking the lead on organizing engagement activities that express our deep appreciation for your valuable contributions. We truly value the time and effort you dedicate to our cause!
Another new member of the team is Pierina, our amazing Onboarding Supervisor! We have really hit the ground running and are so excited to see lots of new volunteers joining on moves. Below is a picture of Pierina and I at The Bridge Conference, where we spoke with many people interested in volunteering with Shelter Movers.
I have just started my fourth week and I can’t believe how quickly the time has passed. Now that I have completed the bulk of my training I am focused on getting to know our volunteers and hearing all about the excellent work that you do.
Pierina has already completed her first move, but I will be on a move soon!

Expanding to Fredericton and Saint John – Can You Help?
This year the expansion of Shelter Movers New Brunswick is going forward. We aim to begin providing our services to survivors in Fredericton as early as April, and strive to also help survivors in Saint John before the end of the year.
We would love to know who among our current volunteers would be willing to come along with us to do moves in these cities. We understand this won’t be an option for everybody, but if you would like to stay informed about the moves happening in Saint John and Fredericton, please send an email to ana.la@sheltermovers.com
Coldest Night of the Year – Supporting our Community Partners!
Join the Shelter Movers New Brunswick ‘Coldest Night of the Year’ Team. The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities. The funds raised will support Youth Quest, a community partner of Shelter Movers NB and an important resources for youth at risk in Moncton. Let’s change the tune for people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness… because it’s cold out there.
Join us on February 22, 2025 – team up, fundraise, and walk with us! Huge thank you to the volunteers who have already signed up! I’m very excited to meet you in person and walk with you. We currently have 5 slots remaining for volunteers who would like to join us.
Click our team link page to learn more about the event and donate. Even small donations can add up to big differences, and sharing the event with your personal network helps raise awareness about the event.
Thank You for Volunteering with Us!
The work that the volunteers in Southeast New Brunswick do is so valuable. Shelter Movers is able to support survivors because of every volunteer that shows up to contribute to the mission. Together we are working towards a world where survivors can move on from abuse and violence in power and dignity. I’m eager to be part of the team with you.
