DESCRIPTION
Habitat ReStores sell quality, new and gently used furniture, appliances, home décor items and building materials to the public at great prices. ReStore proceeds help cover Habitat’s administrative costs to support local building projects that provide more families with safe, decent and affordable housing. Volunteers at our ReStores assist with a number of different tasks involving the preparation materials for sale, customer service, sorting & organizing inventory, and housekeeping. Below are brief job descriptions of each role volunteers may be asked to fill.
Inventory Processing Volunteer
This position is ideal for those that like working behind the scene in the preparation of items for sale. In this position, you’ll be working closely with the ReStore manager and inventory manager in prepping the items for sale. This position requires a knack for cleaning and an appreciation for routine tasks. These tasks include but are not limited to:
Sorting merchandise
Cleaning and preparing the items for sale
Testing the working condition of items
Putting price stickers on merchandise.
Bringing merchandise into the showroom
