Nominate an Outstanding Non-Profit Staff Member or Community Volunteer

The City of Moncton is inviting nominations for a special community recognition initiative taking place on
Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at the Delta in Moncton as part of the
Moncton Social Inclusion Summit: Building Belonging Together.

The Summit will bring together residents, community organizations, service providers, volunteers, businesses,
and local leaders for a day focused on strengthening inclusion, equity, and belonging in our community.

The event will include workshops and community conversations on topics such as youth leadership, mental health
and well-being, Indigenous partnership and reconciliation, senior-focused inclusion, newcomer experiences,
affordable housing, food security, civic participation, anti-racism, and local action.

Cultural performances and food from around the world will also be featured as part of a celebration of the
diversity of our community.

Recognizing 10 Outstanding Community Members

As part of the Summit, the City of Moncton will recognize 10 standout staff members and volunteers
from Moncton’s non-profit and community-serving sectors whose contributions help make our city more welcoming,
connected, and inclusive.

Organizations are invited to nominate individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to community
well-being, social inclusion, equity, and service to others.

Nomination Categories

You may nominate an individual in one or both of the following categories:

  • Outstanding Non-Profit Staff Member
  • Outstanding Community Volunteer

Who Should Be Recognized?

Nominees may be recognized for contributions such as:

  • Demonstrating leadership in advancing social inclusion, equity, accessibility, reconciliation, anti-racism, or belonging
  • Providing compassionate, reliable, and meaningful support to residents or community groups
  • Helping reduce barriers for individuals or communities experiencing exclusion, poverty, isolation, discrimination, or other challenges
  • Strengthening collaboration among organizations, residents, and community partners
  • Showing innovation, creativity, or perseverance in responding to community needs
  • Contributing significant time, energy, or expertise to improve quality of life in Moncton
  • Supporting underrepresented voices and helping residents participate more fully in community life

There are many more than 10 exceptional community members deserving of recognition, but only 10 awards are
available. Organizations are encouraged to make their submissions as strong and specific as possible.

How to Nominate Someone

Please include the following information with your nomination:

  • Name of nominee
  • Nomination category: staff member, volunteer, or both
  • Organization or community group associated with the nominee
  • Nominee’s role or contribution
  • Name and contact information of the person submitting the nomination
  • A brief description of why the nominee should be recognized, including examples of their impact
  • Optional supporting comments, quotes, or testimonials from community members, colleagues, or service users

Suggested nomination length: 250 to 500 words.
