South East Sexual Assault Centre (SESAC)/ | Centre d’agression sexuelle du Sud-Est (CASSE)

DESCRIPTION
SESAC volunteers are compassionate individuals who accompany those who have experienced sexual assault to the hospital and support them during their hospital visit. Volunteers are trained to provide support, referrals, and to advocate for survivors.
Skills and requirements
Volunteers should be willing to learn, reflect, and support those in times of distress. We do not require any specific educational backgrounds, but ask that volunteers are empathetic, understanding, and able to take care of themselves and communicate with staff.
SESAC is a feminist, pro-choice organization that recognizes that violence against cis and trans women is directly related to oppression and systemic barriers female-identified individuals face in society. We hope interested volunteers share our perspective.
